Getting to Know You
Creating a personal and romantic ceremony takes time, and I usually meet
with couples several times to create the perfect ceremony. The first
meeting (or conference call) helps me to get to know you better and my
Couples Questionnaire helps me to learn your "story". Knowing how you
met, details about your first date, how one of you proposed, why you
decided to get married and what you do for fun, helps me to share your
story with your guests in memorable and heartfelt way. |

Managing the Details
It's my
job to coordinate and manage the details of your ceremony. Even if you are
working with a wedding coordinator, I make sure that every element of the
ceremony is perfect. I need to know every vendor involved, the names of your
family and bridal party and even if there are any potential problems I have to
be aware of (step-parents, etc.). It's even important to me to know your
colors, as I have many choices of what to wear and I want to look perfect for
your pictures!
I document all of your wedding information
on my
Wedding Detail
Form that helps keep all the information in one place. Every
important detail is listed, including your entire wedding party, all family
members, the photographer, coordinator, videographer, and florist, the
locations for each part of your ceremony, important contact information,
and time schedule.

Wedding Ceremony
Planning
When we talk the first time, we review
my sample Wedding Ceremony Outline. This outline is only a place
to start - I have never created two wedding ceremonies the same. The
outline helps to define the elements, and then we add special parts to
make your day personal and unique. After the first meeting I send you away
with a book of ideas for you to play with (readings, vows, special
ceremonies, etc). I can also help you with
writing your own vows if you choose.
We usually
meet at several more times to finalize every detail.
I write a completely unique and
Personalized Address for EVERY couple I marry, and I usually write it
the day of the wedding, after I have met with you several times, met your
family and friends (and gotten stories from them!), and even after the
rehearsal. I surprise you with this and my goal is laughter, tears and
abundant joy! No one has ever been disappointed!
I take all the information, including
your music selections, and put them together in a Complete Ceremony Outline
for YOUR ceremony. I provide copies of this outline to everyone
involved with the ceremony; the wedding coordinator, music provider,
videographer, photographer, etc.

The Rehearsal
I always recommend a rehearsal, except for weddings that
are only the bride and groom, although I have done rehearsals for those, too!
The day of the wedding I arrive an hour ahead of time to meet with the music
provider (I have a copy of the ceremony for them to make sure they know their
cues), and to make sure the ceremony site is set up as you planned it. Even
with a wedding coordinator involved, I often find small details that may have
been overlooked. I'm also available to calm last minute jitters and help pin
on flowers!! After the ceremony I am responsible for filing the marriage
license, and I then make a copy for you as well as a copy of the complete
ceremony, and an official certificate for you to frame.
